Arizona Immigration Law: Just the Facts Ma'am
Unless you've been working underground for the last few months, you've likely heard someone express their opinion on the new Arizona Immigration law passed earlier this year. It seems that just about everyone has something to say about it. Hollywood celebrities, President Obama, Governor Gary Herbert, etc. And that's all well and good in my opinion as long as you have made at least a minimal effort to inform yourself first. I kept finding myself in the middle of debates on this issue and having nothing to say about it. The fact was, I had not yet read the actual law. All I knew was what the media was blaring all over the airwaves about it. I finally got tired of having nothing to add to these conversations.
Well, I grew up in Arizona and I obtained my law school education at the University of Arizona in Tucson, not far from the Mexican Border, so I think that I should probably have an opinion on this issue. But rather than giving you my opinion, I thought I'd do better: for your convenience, I have posted below the actual text of the Arizona law that is so much at issue right now. This way, you can judge for yourself . . .
